Citizen of the Month
Anne Everett is the Priority One Citizen of the month. Anne is married to Kevin Everett, and has two children and four grandchildren. A graduate of Delta State University’s School of Nursing, where she earned a Master of Science in Nursing Education. For the past 13 years, she has worked as an RN Healthcare Safety Consultant with Medical Assurance Company of Mississippi. Anne is active in the community, serving on the Board of Directors for the Mississippi Nurses Association and the Morton Chamber of Commerce. She is also involved with the Morton Touchdown Club and serves as a Parent Helper for Morton Girl Scout Troop 4149. In her free time, she enjoys being outdoors and working with flowers.
As a proud product of the Morton School District, this community has played a huge role in shaping who she is. A lifelong resident of Morton, she has built lifelong friendships, and now has the opportunity to give back to the same system that gave so much to her. Morton is the kind of place where people know each other, where relationships last, and where connections span generations. That sense of community is something truly special.
If there’s one thing she wants people to know about Morton Zone PTO, is this: it’s always been about our community coming together for a shared purpose—supporting our schools, our teachers, and helping our students succeed.
Morton may be a small, rural town, but it’s incredibly diverse, and that’s one of our greatest strengths. Over the years, our PTO members and officers have worked hard to create a welcoming environment where families, teachers, businesses, and community members all feel encouraged to get involved and share their ideas. Every success we’ve had is the result of teamwork—parents, grandparents, teachers, staff, administrators, churches, and local businesses all pulling in the same direction.
That same spirit is at the heart of our PTO. Our goal has always been to support our students, teachers, and schools in ways that are meaningful and inclusive. Whether someone volunteers their time, shares ideas, donates resources, or simply shows up to encourage a student—every effort matters. When our community comes together, our schools are stronger.
At the end of the day, everything we do through Morton Zone PTO is rooted in one belief: our students deserve every opportunity, encouragement, and support to dream big and reach their goals. I’m grateful to be part of a community that cares so deeply, and it’s an honor to work alongside so many dedicated teachers, parents, church members, and community and business leaders who make that possible every day.
